On October 10, 2019, the California Attorney General issued proposed regulations under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). On June 28, 2018, California Governor Jerry Brown signed into law the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 (“CCPA”). CCPA grants new privacy rights to Californian residents and applies a notice and consent framework to most businesses operating in California that collect personal information from those residents.
